Felted and Dyed Silk

Wool and Silk are a marriage made in heaven. Wool fibres mesh into the silk fabric and on felting the wool shrinks and the silk doesn’t – making the silk bubbles and ripple. The resulting new fabric, Nuno Felt, has the drape and sheen of silk but the warmth and texture of wool. Nuno felt can be used for scarves, jackets and dresses – this  book shows how to make it .

The second half  of he book explains how to dye the resulting fabrics with  concentrated extracts of Natural dyes.

Both the felting and the dyeing come from my extensive experience over the last twenty years, where I have both made nuno felt, dyed it and taught both techniques in courses.
